Dr. Zhang entered the Hematology Department of Beijing Children’s Hospital in 1983 and has been engaged in clinical work in pediatric hematology and oncology for 41 years. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various pediatric hematologic and neoplastic diseases. In 2003, she led the establishment of the Lymphoma Specialty at Beijing Children’s Hospital and became its discipline leader. In 2017, she led the establishment of the National Children’s Lymphoma Collaborative Group (CNCL) and serves as its Group Leader. She was among the first in China to apply internationally aligned, refined stratified chemotherapy regimens, raising the overall cure rate of pediatric lymphoma to 80–90%. She has undertaken multiple provincial and ministerial-level research projects, published more than 120 papers in domestic and international professional journals such as Blood and Blood Advances, and authored 10 professional books. From 1999 to 2004, she served as a visiting scholar in the Department of Pediatrics at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (USA), the Children’s Cancer Center at Prince of Wales Hospital, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Department of Pediatrics at MD Anderson Cancer Center (USA) on multiple occasions.
